Woods Stockfeeds Suggested Feed Management

Fattening rations with high content of grain should be gradually introduced to prevent nutritional disorders such as bloat or acidosis.

Preferably, palatable hay should be fed for 1–2 days prior to the introduction of grain rations to stock. This practice prevents initial over consumption of Starter rations and allows for more gradual adaptation to grain by the rumen micro-organisms.

Growing rations should be fed at different rates depending on pasture quality/quantity and target live weight gain of stock.

Additional ingredients can be added to a mix upon request by customers and after approval by Woods nutritionist and/or a veterinarian, where applicable. These include rumen buffers, rumen modifiers, antibiotics, specific trace minerals, palatability enhancers, enzymes, mould inhibitors and other additives.
